How To Fixes A Laptop Or Computer Keyboard That Is Lightly Damaged

The keyboard on a laptop is an important tool that plays a very important role for a laptop or computer.

If the keyboard is damaged or has an error, we cannot use the laptop, because without a keyboard it will be difficult even though we can do it with a virtual keyboard.

We can use a virtual keyboard, but it's not as easy as using a laptop's internal keyboard.

The function of the laptop or computer itself will not work if it is not supported by the presence of a keyboard.

Apart from that, if you don't want to be difficult, we can also use an external keyboard to use the laptop.

The keyboard on a laptop or computer is two things that cannot be separated.

In this post, we will discuss how to fix a laptop or computer keyboard that is lightly damaged or has an error.

Have you ever experienced that your laptop keyboard seems to type by itself?

For example, if what we want to press is the letter 'A', but the letter that appears on the laptop screen is different?

This is of course annoying when there is work to be done at that time.

If there are keyboard problems like this, then don't rush to bring your laptop to a service provider.

Because it's possible that these problems can be resolved by yourself in the following ways and tricks, besides that you can save money on laptop repair costs.

So, to fix an error laptop keyboard can be done in the following way:

Try to do the first method, namely running Keyboard Troubleshooting

The Windows Operating System provides a built-in Troubleshooting feature to solve various problems that occur on the Windows operating system.

This troubleshooting feature can function to detect what problems occur on a laptop or computer and also the solution.

If the problem occurs due to a software bug or glitch, this Troubleshooting feature can solve it.

However, if the problem that occurs is damage to the keyboard hardware, this feature cannot solve it directly.

How to do Keyboard Troubleshooting is as follows:

Open the "Settings" menu via the windows operating system search field

Scroll down, select the "Update & Security" menu

Enter the "Troubleshoot" tab, swipe down and look for the "Keyboard" option

Select "Run the troubleshooter".

Wait for Windows to process it, then follow the steps given until it's finished.

If the first method still doesn't work, try the second method, Update Driver.

If the keyboard on your laptop is still typing on its own using the Troubleshoot feature in the first step, it could be that the error is caused by a driver that is bug or not optimal.

With the first step above, we usually recommend Windows 10 to update the keyboard driver.

If you haven't tried the first step or there are no prompts to do this, you can update the keyboard driver with the following steps:

Make sure you are connected to the internet

Open the Device Manager menu via windows search.

Here you will find the drivers installed on your laptop hardware. Select on "Keyboard".

Click the arrow to the side then right click on "Standard PS/2 Keyboard", select Uninstall Driver then click scan for hardware changes.

After uninstalling, Windows will automatically reinstall the driver when we click scan for hardware changes.

The third way is to turn off the Sticky Keys feature

This often happens if we don't buy a new laptop.

If we use someone else's laptop, or have just bought a laptop from someone else, it could be users before you activate the Sticky Keys feature.

The sticky keys feature functions to change the function of a button. So, if you press the button, maybe the results are not appropriate.

For the problem of the sticky keys feature, the way to solve it is as follows:

Open "Control Panel"

Change the appearance first to "Small icon" in the upper right corner

Select "Ease of Access Center"

Select "Make the keyboard easier to use"

Uncheck "Turn on Sticky Keys" then select "Set up Sticky Keys" below it.

Remove all existing check marks then click Apply and OK

If the keyboard still cannot be used after carrying out the third method above, it is possible that damage has occurred to your laptop's hardware.
